Little Amal is an interactive giant puppet that tells the story of Syrian refugees fleeing their homes searching for safety, hope, and opportunity. She represents all children who are forced to flee conflict zones due to war and related challenges.
Good Chance and Handspring Puppet Company are the masterminds behind this extraordinary project. The epic voyage “The Walk” is more of a festival of art and hope to reignite the conversation to support refugees.

Little Amal left Turkey in July 2021. She’s been to Greece, Italy, Germany, and France already, and she’s currently in the UK. Follow her adventures as she makes her way through Europe to spread hope and create awareness.

Little Amal is a 3.5-meter artwork of a nine-year-old Syrian refugee girl. Her story first began in “The Jungle,” an award-winning play by Good Chance Theatre. The character “Little Amal” represented hundreds of minor refugees in the Calais camp.
Who is the Artistic Director of The Walk?
Amir Nizar Zuabi is the mastermind and artistic director of The Walk. He is the founding director of ShiberHur Theater Company. The Sundance Institute Theatre Program, alumnus.
